Oliver Slip-On Sneaker (Men)

The shoes look great. I thought since I didn’t own a pair of Allen Edmonds this would be a good first purchase. The shoes are basically sneakers but AE put a narrow toe box on them and your toes feel pressure when walking and eventually you’ll need relief from the pain. I wore these without socks on the second day and had blisters on both feet and had to stop walking. So disappointing. These should be an all day , comfortable shoe. They are not. Look elsewhere for something in this category.

I have owned five pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes over the years and have always found them to be of exceptional quality, comfort, and craftsmanship. Unfortunately, the Oliver Slip-on Stretch-lace Sneakers were a rare miss for me. I purchased both the black and brown versions, and oddly, both rub against my left ankle joint in the exact same spot. What makes this especially strange is that I have never experienced this issue with any other Allen Edmonds shoes—or with the many shoes I have purchased in Europe over the years. The sneakers look great and the materials seem high quality, but the fit around the ankle simply did not work for me personally.
