Not like the 1006
The 1006 were amazing tennis shoes. Of course NB discontinued them which forced me to get these ones as I require 4E shoes. I've had constant ankle issues with these and I would recommend not buying them.

Tennis court shoes
I need 4E shoes so my choices are limited. I wish they had more colors too choose from.

OK
Soles seem pretty good, though with limited play. Bought them b/c they were the only tennis shoes on the site with 4e sizes. Uppers are something like vinyl, though. It's OK for me cause I'm old, don't play very much anymore and would never play in the middle of a hot summer day. (I'm just now replacing a pair of NB tennis shoes I bought in the 2000s. The original glue failed and now the gorilla glue I used is failing--otherwise the sole and the leather are fine.) I can't imagine wearing these shoes to play multiple hard sets in a Texas summer like I used to, though. I would literally be pushing sweat out with every step.

New Balance 806 is a solid performer!
This is my new favorite court shoe. Feels like it hugs my feet offering support and stability as I move around the pickleball court. The leather upper makes it durable while maintaining that new shoe look. Best of all it comes in a super wide size 4E which allows me to slide into the shoe and allows my wide foot some room in the toe box.

My second pair of 806 wide.
I like New Balance shoes because they are design for people were slightly wider than average feet. This is my second pair of 806E. I probably waited too long to replace the previous pair, as the tread was really worn down. The new shoes fit just like the old ones. My only concern is that I still have to tie the laces is quite tightly to get the secure feeling that my feet won’t slide around inside the shoe. It doesn’t take long to break a new pair; after 3-4 hours, I felt fully ready to go.
They work well for both Pickleball and tennis.
