Vapor Gloves
This will be my 4th pair of Vapor Gloves, and I really enjoy this one a lot. Pretty true to size, maybe runs a little bigger. Merrell has always been quick on shipping, correct on description, and the product matches is exactly what is described as well as shown. The shoes are light, solid tread on bottom and put together well. These are my daily shoes and I will continue to get these shoes as long as they keep making them.

Running Coach Review: Vapor Glove 6 value failure
I’ve been buying Merrell shoes since the first-edition Trail Glove and the old Road Glove. Those early shoes earned my loyalty because they were genuinely durable. My original Trail Glove v1s lasted for years, including extensive running on bitumen and trail, and I snapped up every pair of Road Glove's i could find when it was announced they were being discontinued.
The Vapor Glove 6 has been a completely different experience.
Within 6–8 weeks, holes had worn through the soles. I assumed the first pair may have been a bad unit, so I bought a second pair. The same thing happened again, just as quickly. That is not normal wear. That is a serious durability failure.
What makes this worse is that this does not appear to be an isolated issue. There are many similar complaints from other customers online, yet Merrell does not appear to be meaningfully acknowledging the problem. For a company that built trust with minimalist runners through durable, reliable shoes, this feels like a serious breach of loyalty.
The saddest part is that the economics probably still work for them in the short term. If customers now need to buy three to five pairs of a weaker product to replace the lifespan of one older, better-built pair — and each pair costs more — then Merrell can lose a large portion of long-term customers and still come out ahead financially.
But that is exactly how a brand destroys trust.
Merrell used to make minimalist shoes that felt purpose-built, honest, and durable. The Vapor Glove 6 feels like the opposite: a high-priced, short-lived product trading on the reputation built by earlier, better shoes.
After years of loyalty, I can no longer recommend Merrell minimalist shoes. The Vapor Glove 6 has seriously damaged my confidence in the brand.

Awesome minimalist shoes
First pair of Merrells, first pair of minimalist shoes, these are awesome! Fits to size, I’m like a 12.5 and they are perfect. The rubber is wearing a bit, but I’m 230 and walk on hard surfaces frequently. Using these daily to strengthen my feet when I’m not exercising

First timer
Never tried one of these shoes before, but I caught them on sale and decided to give them a try. So far I am happy with them. The amount of “feel” under foot is huge compared to regular shoes. Again the muscles on your feet feel more used than with regular shoes. I have pretty wide feet and these have great toe room. I will likely buy another pair when these are done. One thing I’m hoping for is that they will be easier to wash and hopefully they can stay smelling clean. Since I do wear them on road at times i have noticed faster wear than what I was expecting. I am on the bigger side tho.280 lbs. So it’s not all on the shoe.

Might wanna do a bit more R&D and have better QC
Shoes fit great, however, I can’t run on any trails with them due to them having such a thin sole. The smallest of pebbles or roots absolutely destroyed my feet(and I have extremely tuff feet) I mine as well go barefoot. And the side of the left shoe is already starting to come unglued from the top part. They only have 60 miles on them and it’s sidewalk running.
