Moab 3 Mid Hiking Shoe

GOOD ALL AROUND BOOT. THIS IS MY SECOND PAIR, 1ST PAIR SOLES ARE WORN DOWN, STILL USE THEM FOR YARD WORK. BOTH PAIRS ARE NON WATERPROOF MODELS FOR WARMER WEATHER. GRIP IS GOOD, TOE BOX IS NICE & ROOMY BUT HEEL CUP A LITTLE TO ROOMY. MESH TOP IS SOMEWHAT LACKING IN PROTECTION. MY OBOZ BRIDGER MID ARE A BETTER FIT IN THE HEEL CUP. STILL SEARCHING FOR AN ALL LEATHER TOP NON WATERPROOF MODEL FOR WARMER WEATHER...

Good as usual. This was my first wide width pair. I did need to add an insole to get the fit I wanted.

I’m a USPS letter carrier with flat feet. I ditched the Hoka bondi for these Moab 3 and never again got my ankle rolled from any of the routes. Easy to clean from dog’s dung, too (just being honest :D). These shoes had saved me a ton of slip/trip/roll situations. Not a single penny is wasted on the purchase. Thank you, Merrel’s!!!

These boots are great. They didn’t need broken in and are definitely water proof through wet grass and small puddles. The wide width is perfect for comfort.

The Moab 3 are great fare weather boots. Excellent ventilation, supportive, comfortable, strong thick soles with good grip. I bought size 14 wide and they fit perfectly. My only criticism is the bottom part of the lacing tends to tighten and as feet swell during use the toe box tends to tighten up. That likely wouldn’t happen if the bottom of the lacing started a little higher up. Otherwise I really like my Moab 3’s.

I have been buying Moab wide width for as long as they have been made. Starting with the first generation. I buy about four pair a year and generally destroying all four in that same year. I keep two pair ant a time and alternate days, so one pair airs out and I have fresh workbooks every morning. Over the past TWENTY FOUR YEARS of brand loyalty that equates to about NINETY SIX pair. Both ventilator and Goretex. I don’t like the “waterproof” but I’ve tried several. I think the gen 3’s are the best yet and do love these boots. But, it’s only been in the same colorways the whole time! Also looks like my one of my favorite offered is or has been discontinued!!! Which is why I’m giving two stars. All the cool color combos are NEVER in wide widths. Merrel, please, I have called and emailed begging, to no avail. Please offer the the cooler muted earthy color ways in the wide sizes. I have been a loyal customer for a long time. I wear these boots everywhere CONUS and around the globe. All in all, I’ll keep buying them. But I really wish I could get some different colors. I’m hoping the two stars might get somebodies attention. I’d gladly change my review rating if I get a response.
