These shoes look fabulous in the pictures, and their burgundy shade is beautiful! However, the shoes smell. They are also too large, a little like clown shoes. I didn’t feel like I could pull off the wide toe box and over-the-top block heel. Rather than look a little like I’m wearing Ronald McDonald (the McDonald’s clown) shoes, I returned them and found another pair of more traditional Mary Janes in a different brand. I wish my new Mary jeans were this fabulous burgundy color, but I just can’t stand the aroma of the synthetic leather and thermoplastic rubber sole. These VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) apparently make the shoes flexible and durable, and maybe the smell eventually wears off.
