Long Sleeve Belted Cotton Poplin Maxi Dress

This is a great dress, absolutely love that it is breathable cotton and has pockets. The print is nice and I think it can be dressed up or down. This dress runs really big—it has a boxy shape and REQUIRES a belt to cinch. The photos make the waist look more defined. I don’t mind the (removable) belt that came with it, but the pictures make it look wider-thicker, I assume it’s doubled up on the model. The print of the dress doesn’t have a defined waist to break up the pattern, so lots of options on where to tie a belt based on body shape. Lastly, the dress is unlined but not see through, and the V neck is not shallow and sits higher up—I appreciate the “conservatism” because it’s very work appropriate.

I am usually a solid small and the sm/med was huge- looked like a sack. The next size down fit much better. Sleeves were shorter and tighter at the cuff but it’s a blouson sleeve, so it worked and I needed the dress in a hurry for an event. I switched out the fabric belt with a leather designer belt to dress it up a little. Love the fabric; breathes easy. Geo print is interesting and best feature of all…IT HAS POCKETS!

Very nice feel to the fabric of this dress. As I am on the smaller end of the size range I ordered I plan to have just a bit of the volume taken in from the sleeves and through the torso, but nothing major. I thought this dress was a good find for the price and will be good for work, vacation or spring events. Definitely recommend, I am also happy to see a natural fiber rather than polyester.

I bought the small/medium....I typically wear size Small in most clothes...but if it is not stretchy, I made need a medium. I am 5'9" fit - not thin- DD chest. The dress fit but was very large. The top part had enough room. I thought the belt helped with pulling in the extra material....maybe not so much because I tried it on for my best friend and she said it made me look older and bigger. Yikes! I returned it. I have long blond hair and the print did not look good on me. Love the way it looks in the photo....but did not work for me.
