• A cushion without a cushion. Gives a natural skin-like finish with the anti-red benefits for rosacea or eczema prone skin. Great for a concealer alternative. Brightens dark under eye circles and sallowness around mouth. • My personal favorite way to apply is either warming with a finger and tap it on with gentle sweeping, or the 'Secret Brightening Powder Brush' or 'Cream Cheek Color Brush' in gentle sweeping motions, or gentle patting to bulid coverage. • DO NOT RUB IN LIKE LOTION OR TINTED MOISTURIZER ALTERNATIVE! DO NOT PUSH PRODUCT TO HARD! A firm pressure to dip into the pan is not necessary. • Best to Set with favorite setting spray to stay all day, or powder to mattify slightly.

Laura Mercier’s Tinted Balm reminded me of The Emperor’s New Clothes. I kept trying to convince myself there was something there… but there was nothing! At this point, I feel like I bought myself a very expensive compact with a free mirror. I’m 51, with fair skin and no deep lines, and I was hoping this would give me a light, finished, glowy look—something subtle but still noticeable. Instead, it literally feels like I’m applying lip balm all over my face. I kept looking in the mirror thinking, “Is that it?” I genuinely don’t understand the hype around this one. I hate wasting products, though, so I’m going to experiment with mixing it into some of my cream foundation. Maybe I can turn it into the glowy, sheer base I was hoping for in the first place. For me, unfortunately: the emperor is still naked. 😆

Got this in shade 01 (light, cool-toned). One of the most perfect foundation matches I've ever had, especially considering I chose & purchased online. This goes on easily and smoothly, but I do wear it over an SPF 50 sunscreen that's also a moisturizer. If you have anything but the oiliest skin, you're gonna need to apply this over a moisturizer, because even though this melts a little on application, it needs help to give it "slip" for easier application (to make up for the lack of water, since it's a solid formula). It doesn't look mask-like, but it's also not one of those "barely there" products either. Not matte, not glowy. Just makes me look like I have perfect skin, not like I'm wearing makeup. Great wear time, no breaking down or coagulating, even in creases and even after 10 hours. I tried this because of Hanna "hanbeauty" online, who tested it and was impressed. She used a brush to apply; I just use my fingers. After I let it set for a minute, I lightly run a clean flat-topped makeup brush all over to buff & further blend for the most natural skin-like appearance. I lightly powder my slightly oily T-zone with "elvish dupe" loose powder in Lilac Haze. If you don't have oily skin, you will not need powder with this. Highly recommended.

This balm goes on so smoothly ; spend appropriate time blending & blotting. It is a great product .

I think this product would be applied best with a sponge or foundation brush, but I have been using my fingers. I smear a fingers worth twice on my forehead and cheeks, then only once on my nose and chin, and it gives the perfect sheer coverage for me. Just enough to even my skin tone without feeling heavy. It's not cakey at all and lasts for about 6 hours with no setting powder, then I start to look a little oily, but the coverage stays for about 10 hours total. If I add setting powder it lasts all day with no touch ups needed! I love it!

I hesitated to pick this up after so many reviews called out the small amount of product but I’m glad I tried it. I really enjoy the finish this gives my skin. I find myself reaching for it over other foundations often. It’s so easy to use and quickly transforms my complexion to look very polished. Love and will continue to use! The LM team helped me with shade matching and that worked out perfectly for me. :)
