Odetta Slingback Wedge (Women)

Over two years, I have purchased three other L'Amour des Pieds shoes and they are quite satisfactory. This fourth pair did not have an adjustable sizing back strap nor a foam cushioned insole as described on line - very hard soled. The third pair I purchased was less well cushioned than the first two pair but still satisfactory -- this pair was impossible. So disappointed in Nordstrom's quality control over suppliers -- this supplier, despite French name not French at all, started out okay but started sloughing off.

At first sight, they are as rare as they are glamorous and elegant. But once you look at them well: there was a narrow leather gap between two sides of the strips. I put some brown leather dye on it. On one side of the heel, the thin, thin leather was not stretched as tight as it should have been, and there was a slight bubble covered by the pattern. And finally, the thread used on the cushioned insole is very sharp. I could not wear the shoes without stockings...maybe after wearing many times, to show off red toenails. Although minor details, they take one full star from them. The elastic on the back makes them not too comfortable for long walks, I think I may take them to a cobbler to adjust the elastic. And, yes, I am looking forward to wear them again.

Attention - FINALLY: Cinderella-quality - if her shoes were perfect! They feel like clouds enveloping my feet. I have never felt this way about shoes - from height, to soft kid-glove suede, to total modern look - love them. I took them to a little shoe repair store for stain/rain treatment protection and the owner said it’s lovely to see shoes of this quality. I have the wonderful, classy beige color & in about 10 seconds I’ll be ordering the black suede. Happy feet, oh yes!
