The most significant drawback, and what I consider a genuine design flaw for a piece of carry-on luggage, is the inability to padlock the zips. Despite being sized for hand luggage, the plastic zips do not interlock, rendering the possibility of securing the bag with a padlock impossible. This lack of a basic security feature is baffling and frankly, quite annoying. Had I not been imminently departing on holiday, this oversight alone would have prompted a return. Furthermore, while I understand the desire for subtle branding, purchasing a product from a reputable brand like Antler comes with the expectation of some discernible brand presence. The lack of any noticeable branding on this bag felt somewhat underwhelming. Overall, this "Essential Overnight Bag" falls short of the standards I've come to expect from Antler. The uninspired design, limited colour choices, and most crucially, the impractical and insecure zip design, make this a disappointing purchase. It's a shame that a brand known for its longevity has seemingly overlooked such a fundamental aspect of luggage design
