Speedgoat Mid 2 GTX Boot (Men)

I bought these as a Christmas present for my husband. He wanted a lightweight, comfortable waterproof/ resistant boot to wear for hiking. He hasn't seen or worn these boots yet, so we'll see how they perform. But my husband has had several pairs of Hoka running shoes & swears by them. I'm hoping that these live up to the reputation of Hoka!!

I own four other pairs of Hokas. The Speedgoat Mid is by far the best for day hiking. I bought it true to size despite the recommendation to buy 1/2 size larger. It fits just like all my other Hokas, but are by design, snug fitting for a very sure footed feeling. The Speedgoats do require some effort to put on. I have to open the laces up as much as possible to get my foot in them. That said, it is well worth the effort. I reserve my Speedgoats for hiking and select my Challengers, Stensons or other Hokas for easy on and off convenience and for less demanding terrain.

Got a smoking hot deal on these shoes and they appeared to have been never opened. I was expecting them to be previously tried on, but they appear to be factory fresh. I have 2 sets of Speedgoat mids already, but one is wearing out after years of service. This new pair will take over the reins this summer, I suspect. I'm normally a 12, but with Hokas I've always gone for 12.5 for the perfect fit. I think they run small or at least a little narrow. I will add elastic laces to make it easier to slip these on and off. Looking forward to years of service from these.
