The HICKORY jacket is inspired by the historic Mountain Parka designed following the request of mountaineers, who needed a garment worthy of scaling K2, in 1953. The parka set a new precedent in both style and quality, the latter being a crucial factor for the expedition, which allowed them to spend more than a month at 20,000 feet in temperatures as low as -70 Fahrenheit. Designed and crafted in Italy, it features soft goose down insulation, wool flannel-lined pockets, and overall buoyancy, reminiscent of the B-9 Flight Parka. The HICKORY jacket features a Talon zip, a drawstring waistband, and a diamond-quilted interior. This windproof and water-repellent garment ensured the mountaineer's protection from the unpredictable conditions of K2. Over the next three decades, the parka cemented its reputation as the pinnacle of American expedition excellence, a recognition that gradually expanded into the realm of fashion.
