Gridiron 14-Piece Knife Block Set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The case itself is a bit fragile though heavy, the acrylic on mine broke in unpacking. However, the knives fit wonderfully inside. The blades are sharp and I appreciate that it comes with everything you need to keep them in good quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this knife set. Comes a set of knives for cooking, steak knives, the block, and a sharpener. I love the block. It’s magnetic on the inside so the tips and blades of the knives are not dulled by sliding in and out and being pushed against a block. The sharpener works well. Now, these knives are German stainless steel. No dishwashers, hand wash only, and I recommend you hand dry to avoid getting spots. That said the work like a dream. I especially love the size and balance of the chef knife. Perfect for almost anything and not so big that it’s too heavy to hold or lacks balance. With proper sharpening and care, these knives will last me a long time. Also, they are stunning. I keep the block displayed on my counter. Some of the knives did need a little sharpening when they first arrived, but the included sharpener worked like a charm.

I’ve used the slicer, nakiri, and steak knives and all have performed very well with zero wobble. I’ve never owned steak knives that aren’t serrated, so I was skeptical of using smooth steak knives, but they easily sliced through meat because of how sharp they are. I also like the sleek look of the magnetic holder. It takes up very little space on the counter and looks very classy. (I immediately got positive comments about my new knives from people who came over.) The knives that I’ve used so far have been excellent at cutting, dicing, chopping etc. The textured grip on the hilt feels nice when cutting—it gives your hands an extra hold to avoid slipping. Everything cuts smoothly and precisely. The only thing I don’t like is the holder. It’s a nice display if your kitchen is set up correctly or if you have space. It’s pretty bulky in my small kitchen.

The knife block felt substantial and sturdy after tightening with the included Allen wrench. Knives were quite sharp out of the box and they cut extremely smoothly. A sharpener is included. Cleaning the knives was very pleasant with the smooth transition from handle to blade. The look and feel would fit a modern kitchen. Altogether a good experience and a great set of knives and addition to any kitchen!
