A squeaky and uncomfortable revised 880
I usually buy the New Balance 880 and have for many years. However, when I bought and tried this version, there was a couple of noticeable differences, and not good ones. When I compared it to my current pair of 880's, the sole was considerably higher. When I put them on, i definitely felt higher and a little bit slanted, which after a bit of wearing, but pressure on my knees as I tried to compensate for the leaning forward. Also, the shoe was incredibly squeaky, it didn't matter if I was on carpet or hardwood, after a couple of hours of wear, it didn't stop squeaking. Unfortunately, I wound up having to return them, which is the first time I've bought a pair of NB 880's that didn't work for me, not only because they were noisy but also caused me pain. Please stop tweaking things New Balance! There was nothing wrong with the design before and your new design has made things worse. I guess I will be seeking out sneakers from another brand from now on.

The one and only 880's
After my podiatrist put me onto these some years ago I've never looked back. I'll always have a couple of other brands the podiatrist recommends too, and vary it up some days, but the 880's are consistently my favourite. I feel more of a spring in my step with these and feel it propel me forward due to the wonderful engineering. They're light, springy, yet super supportive, and last for ages despite me wearing them most days. Don't ever stop making them please! They fit my orthotics well and definitely work better for my middle-aged arthritic knees than all others. Helps me to stay as active as I want.

Great stability running shoes
These are great overall. I love the larger Toe box and cushioning. The ankle portion along the seam rubs my ankles and causes irritation. I’ve had to loosen the laces more than my typical running shoes.
