A Goodyear Welt on the Prestige Sole (carved and shaped with a fiddle section and a museum calf finish). This is about as good as it gets for John Lobb without going bespoke. The book is fairly fashion-forward for Lobb, but it would be among the most conservative if offered by Saint Laurent. Probably in the same family as Tom Ford, but made to the highest standards. The finish is called museum, not patina, as you'd see with Berluti or Corthay. It's subtle, absorbed all the way through the calf leather, and gives it a traveled look. It's comfortable to wear, looks great with denim or fashionable suits/trousers. Probably would go with just about anything other than shorts, sweats or formal attire.
