Velour Wide Leg Pants

Received these pants yesterday, they are lovely. Giving four stars because I will have to spend forty dollars to get them hemmed, they are seriously 12” too long. The fit is good everywhere else. I’m happy to see sizes running 8-10, 10-12 etc. Also, another reason for the four stars is that this cotton polyester blend will pill like crazy. I should have read more on that. I have very sensitive skin and texture issues. I certainly hope the pilling won’t be problematic for me since hemming is in place. I’m 5’2 approx 135 lbs with a 40DD. Attention Nordstrom, not everyone is tall.

I purchased the matching set online in size small in cherry red. When I opened the packaging I was disappointed in the quality. It’s not a soft velour but I thought the style was different from anything else I’d seen and I wanted to keep it. However it was huge on my petite, hourglass frame. When I asked my husband how it looked he said it looked too big and frumpy. Ugh. So I returned it and reordered it in size XS in black. It looked much better (husband agreed!) so I had Nordy take up the inseam for me. Bottom line I’m glad I kept the black set but out of the several matching velour sets I have this isn’t one I reach for. I think it’s overpriced even on sale esp if you, like me, are short and have to pay for pant alterations. On the upside, it washed well on delicate and I air dried it. I did have to steam out the wrinkles in the ribbon on the zippers after washing/air drying.
