Flared Maxi Skirt

The fabric has a good hand and it seems well made. I liked the drape and the flare at the ankles. But it was cut wrong for this cookie-loving individual. Though it fit at the waist, it was cut very close to the body through stomach and thighs. It clung, in a sad, unflattering way. I'd only wear it if I could wear a knee- length terry cloth bathrobe over it at all times. Which would defeat the purpose of getting dressed. So I'll return it. With a less body-conscious cut, it would be good.

Returned this skirt immediately. If it were in the store, I definitely would not have even tried it on. This skirt has an ugly elastic waistband, that looks super cheap. The skirt was cut from 4 panels that were sewn together, so instead of 2 nice clean seams, there are 4 ugly seams, adding to the cheap look of this skirt. I would have expected to see this skirt at a Factory Outlet or Bargain Discount store, not Nordstrom.

I bought this skirt for an upcoming trip to India, but it will work for so much more. It runs true to size, although if you're in between sizes the smaller size might work because it's quite stretchy. I haven't washed it yet as I'm still packing, so I can't comment on shrinkage. Hope it doesn't shrink! Very comfortable and flattering, plus it's a nice weight for warm weather without being sheer. Seems easy to dress up or down. Love it!
