Can't live without it....
This clip is Just fabulous! I have had mine for over 5 years and use it constantly. (5-6x a week) It has great holding power and never slips, even in my fine hair. The curved shape keeps it from hurting my head even if I fall asleep in it. the spring is as strong as the day i bought it, and even though I've dropped it hundreds of times, the emamel has never chipped.
I have only one complaint: there should be more colors/ and styles. I would totally dig one covered in crystals!!

Newer version not better version
I had one of these for about 10 years and absolutely loved it. Recently lost it and had to buy a new one. The new one is nothing like the old one. Has a plastic overlay instead of the all metal original version. The painted metal was way better and held my hair great. I bought the medium and it does not stay in my thick hair at all anymore:( I purchased a much cheaper Vidal Sassoon Avian clip that is more like the original Ficcare for about $3.50, Will stick with those from now on. Love Nordstroms - but bummed about the clip.

Worth Every Penny!
This is the only hair accessory I have ever used that is comfortable to wear, actually holds hair, stays where you put it, AND isn't going to break in 6 months.
I have wavy, thick, heavy hair that is a little longer than my shoulders. The Medium clip works for me for low buns and low rolls. I use the Large for big high hairstyles. I have the Matte Gold and Matte Silver clips which are all metal and are very sturdy.
Just one warning: if you buy one and like it, you're going to want all of them... !

Not quite like the old one...
First, I need to say that these are the only clips that I have ever found that will stay in my hair, which is thick but very fine. I LOVE them. I use them almost daily. That said, the company recently changed the size and makeup of this clip. The gold and silver clips are slightly longer (and thus slightly heavier) than the previous ones. Fortunately, I can still wear these. To my huge disappointment however, the tortoise shell version has a cheap plastic piece bonded to it now that makes it so heavy that it falls out immediately. I prefer the look of the tortoise shell, but I'm unable to use it. Thankfully, I have one of the old ones that, although chipped from 5 years of use, still works.

So disappointed
I've been using these for over 10 years and am obsessed. I do everything in these clips, including work out. The spring broke on my last clip (it was about 5 or 6 years old) and I was so excited to find that Nordstrom now sold them! Unfortunately these aren't the same quality. The plastic piece that's glued onto the top of the clip is a new feature, as the old clip used to be just the top metal piece stained/painted. The added piece started coming off the first day and fell completely off on day 3. Instead of returning it I just cleaned off the leftover glue and am using it as-is. It's now like the older versions, just all gold and without the tortoise stain. Please go back to the original!
For reference I have long medium-thickness hair and wear the small.

New Acetate Clip is Awful Bring Back Original
I used to absolutely LOVE these clips. They slipped easily into and out of the hair and held it securely. I have migraines and it was the only way I could wear my hair up. Then the company got cheap and started putting acetate on top of the clips and no longer hand paints them like they used to. Sadly, I lost my clip while traveling and had to get a new one. The brown and colored clips are all acetate and do not slip into to the hair, but get stuck. I had to use chemo for a while and I was so excited to buy a new clip as my hair had gotten to thin so I held off purchasing a new one. When it grew back in thick I was so excited to get my new clip and it simply isn't the same and will not hold my thick hair like this brand used to in the many styles I could create with it. Please bring back the old Ficcare they were beautiful and worked so well. I can tell you I even had backed over mine with a car and it kept on working well worth the money.... if that happened with the acetate clip it would be broken to bits.
