My standard hiking shell
I own two of these. Jacket #1 is close to 10 years old now. Fabric has some pilling, but otherwise in in great shape. Jacket #2 is 3 years old, and looks new even after many outings and washings. Love the weight and stretch of the fabric. Kind of wind proof and very breathable. Often layer over it with either insulation or waterproof breathable. Not sure I would do the hood again.

Ferrosi hoodie
Only down side is the hood does not stow. The description says it does but be aware it doesn’t.

Ferrosi Hoodie is the perfect softshell!
I've always been a fan of softshells and have owned a few over the years. The Ferrosi does not disappoint! Picked this up a few days ago and have already put it through its paces with some cold (20-30°F) bike rides and runs. The beauty of teh fabric is that it is so thin, it really doesn;'t pick up moisture and become heavy, so if you climb a big hill and get a little sweaty it's no big deal. You just keep on pedaling (or running, skinning, etc...) and before you know it, your body heat keeps pushing out heat and drying the fabric. The tight weave of the fabric isn't "windproof" but it's kind of that perfect balance of wind resistance vs breathability. The end result is that your baselayers don't loose their heat trapping capabilities due to getting soaked through. This is the kind of layer that you put on in the morning and don't take off till your back at the car at sun set. I'm 5'10" and 195 lbs, the Large is a perfect fit. I'm a big fan of the Ferrosi Hoodie jacket and can't wait until backcountry ski season kicks off for reals... I do believe this will be my go to layer for bike commutes, afternoon runs, mtb shredfests, and all the varieties of skiing (nordic, downhill and backcountry). Kudos to you OR!

Awesome layer
This jacket is perfect for shoulder seasons to cut the chill and the wind without being heavy or bulky. They shed water, have some stretch for comfort, and the hood fits great. Would buy again.

Perfect lightweight jacket for spring and fall weather. Well-constructed seams, quality zipper, and a functional hood that doesn't fall over the front of my head. Overall, it's my new go-to jacket for cool weather days. Haven't used it long enough to give a good opinion on durability, but no premature wear yet. I'm expecting to get many seasons out of this.

Perfect for being in and of the rain.
Love the breathability combined with water resistance. Don’t feel like I have to take it off as soon as I’m inside. The fabric is pilling in a few areas. Could use a little better abrasion resistance. But I still love this thing. Got one embroidered for work and bought a second to wear around when I’m off.
