Faye Wedge Slide Sandal

I bought these shoes from Nordstrom for a vacation. The heel height seemed perfect—not too high, not too low—and they looked stylish enough for walking to a restaurant or a bar. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. After only a few hours of walking, I developed some of the worst blisters I’ve ever had on both feet. The pain is so severe that I can’t wear regular shoes, and have to rely on flip-flops. When choosing vacation footwear, comfort matters just as much as appearance. These shoes looked great, but they failed completely in terms of wearability, even for a short period. If you plan to do any significant walking, especially while traveling, I would strongly recommend breaking them in well before your trip or choosing a different pair. A stylish shoe isn’t worth it if it leaves you unable to enjoy your vacation.

For the price I expected the shoe to feel more supple, but the exterior feels more like plastic. To make matters worse, the edges are sharp around your toes so it digs in as you walk. The shoe is also surprisingly wide all around and I found my foot sliding around. To stop the sliding I would have to push my foot as far forward as possible to wedge it into the toe, but then the edges would dig into my toes even more. These will be going back, which is a shame because they are cute and could be very versatile.

Not comfortable at all, especially for wide feet. Had to return them.
