Cotton confusion

The description of this dress states it is 100% cotton. Instead of a soft, floaty dress I received a heavy and somewhat shiny dress that was clearly labeled 100% polyester. It was also quite long. I am only 5ft. 5in. but it almost swept the floor. Had high hopes for this as a regular repertoire item for my teaching wardrobe. Colors were amazing but immediately returned.

This dress is NOT cotton

I am very surprised that this has happened after shopping at Nordstrom. This dress is said to be 100% cotton on the website, imagine my shock when it showed up and it is 100% polyester! Shocking from Nordstrom. I’m disappointed.
