Long Sleeve Rib Dress

I purchased a v-neck version of this dress several years ago in black and it is still one of my favorites and one of the few EF pieces that fit me perfectly out of the bag. At 5'5'/90#, almost everything at EF is oversized on me and requires alteration. This one is a flattering, slim fit, very drapey and comfortable, and a nice, blank canvas for styling. Limitless options! As for washing, it's completely washable - cold, delicate cycle, lay flat to dry. Also, don't judge the outcome until it's dry. Like a lot of the tencel pieces, it appears to suffer shrinkage, misshaping, etc. when wet. In my experience, it returns to normal as its drying, and is completely fine once dry. I wouldn't put tencel in the dryer, anyway, as a rule of thumb (especially with this type of ribbing), because it does shrink. I also have a tank in this fabric and it's also a favorite. I am so excited to see this dress offered again in the lovely Wren color and on sale! Placing my order now!

I bought this dress and matching pants and loved them. The dress fit just as you see on the models. After washing in cold water, gentle cycle and laying flat to dry - both the dress and the pants shrunk quite a bit and changed shape. The bottom of the pants look like “ruffles." I tried ironing them (as per washing instructions on tag) and even wore them for a day (only in my house as I wouldn't go out in public the way they fit now) to see if they would stretch out. But they did not. I only wore these a few times before washing them and now I cannot wear them any more. I love Eileen Fisher clothes and have worn them for years. This is the first time I have had the experience of clothes being unwearable after washing.

I love the stretch rib fabric. However, while its heavy weight worked well in another short, sleeveless dress, it made this dress look like a tree trunk. The fabric bunched at the sleeves, and the long, boxy cut of the dress simply didn't drape well, or at all. Plus, the brown color was not attractive. I returned it.
