Buttercup Blow Dryer

I didn't think there could be a big difference between brands of blowdryers that were all 1850 watts, but this puppy is so nice! My long, very thick hair normally takes an hour to dry (ask any of my friends or my hubby), and this one literally cut the time in half. I love that the COOL button doesn't require you to keep pushing it, you just click it once and it stays on cool. It's very lightweight, the cord is much longer than other brands, so I can sit down on my bench and turn my head upside down for volume. I also love the Mr Wonderful leave-in conditioner and a couple of the other products. I'M HOOKED!

I had high hopes that this would be my replacement hairdryer and it was disappointing. My personal opinion is that Drybar products and tools are marketed well with their signature bright yellow logos / packaging and minimal / easy to use features that someone with little experience styling their hair would find results. I have been styling my hair for years and tried numerous products. I have tried both the Drybar Buttercup and the Drybar 3-Day Bender with mediocre results. Are they better than using drug store brands? Yes. But if you are looking to invest in a quality dryer that will give you professional results, you should invest in the T3 line. The dryer does not have enough pressure to produce a sleek blowout. You have to go over each section numerous times and you still end up with frizz and fry your hair. I have long thick hair and takes be approximately 20 minutes to style my hair. It took even longer using their products. I have gradually changed all of my tools over to the T3 line and have been very happy and my hair even looks healthier.

I bought this blow dryer 2 months ago, I’d never spent so much on a blow dryer and I thought if it doesn’t do a great job, I’m definitely going to return it. But no way am I parting with this Buttercup Blow dryer, I love it and I know look forward to quickly blow drying my hair. I have thick wavy/ some curls, it use to take me 30 minutes-to dry with this Buttercup blow dryer it takes 8 mins!!!! I use the diffuser attachment with it. I really love the results and I will be keeping it!

I have very fine, colored, flat-ironed hair. To make matters worse, I have to wash my hair every other days as I have a greasy scalp. I was using an extremely expensive blow dryer which started making noises, so I bought this on a whim as a replacement. At first, I was a little disappointed that the air wasn't as hot and it took me an extra couple of min. to blow dry my hair. But then, I noticed that my hair was getting healthier and healthier. I usually don't believe in such things, but this is true. You can't see split ends or frizz, and it looks like a "winter" blow dry, every day is a good hair day. I love the cool button because I use a very large round brush and after my hair is dry, I cool it on the brush and it is bouncy and voluminous. For my hair, this is a miracle.

I have long, healthy, thick, curly, dry AA textured hair that has never been dyed or chemically altered, and I am very particular about the heat tools I use when I blow it out. Years before I tried them all: CHI, Solano, FHI, GHD, and the best that I found were JRS Superstar (Which is sadly no longer manufactured) and T3 heat styling tools. T3 does an awesome job of protecting your hair from damage, drying quickly without frying. Unfortunately, the products break often and I have had to purchase about 3 blow dryers over the past 7 years. When the time to replace the T3 Evolution came around, I decided to try this because of the price and another reviewer who also used T3 that said it worked well. I would have to agree! I'm happy with the results, smooth, shiny hair, without high heat, dries quickly, and the flat iron and curling iron are pretty great too. Love the price point. Time will tell if this will last very long, but I highly recommend this blow dryer if you are a high heat styler and want to protect your tresses. It gets hot enough to actually set hair with the temperature that curly hair needs to stay straight in humidity, and it has the same combination of options as a T3 (low/high speed + 3 levels of heat) & cool shot.
