Dolman Sleeve Faux Wrap Dress

Snap up this incredibly comfortable dress! The sleeves cover up any upper arm insecurities and the ruching covers any belly issues you might have. The wrap layers are secured so the skirt won't fly open on a windy day. This looks way more expensive than it is. I am fairly tall with kind of broad shoulders and this works so well for me. I may add a navy fabric belt, maybe.

I had luck recently with two other size 12 Maggie London dresses. I’m a 4 foot 11 gal with a short waist, mama belly bump, and very wide hips. I fell in love with this fabric, so I tried it in many sizes. The other Maggie London dresses that DID fit me are an abstract b/w REAL wrap dress with long sleeves; and another asymmetrical flare one that’s black and cream with a turtleneck. But the problem with THIS dress and many other Maggie London dresses that I also ordered desperately searching for something with color and short sleeves, is that they don’t accommodate wide hips and/or hide my baby bump. This dress looked like it would be perfect, but it’s a *faux* wrap. So while the other dresses I got that did work on my body accommodated my hourglass shape, this one squeezed my hips and front baby bump in a tacky “bootylicious” club kind of way. I’m trying to dress for work here. I tried sizing up but the size 14 ballooned out way too much at the top of my back and still didn’t have that much more give below. It just looked awkward. It sucks not having nearly any real petite choices in Nordstrom’s dress department and not being able to even benefit from plus sizing because 14 is too big for me. Gosh I wish they would just open up the wrap! They could fit so many more bodies and make more money! And stop hugging the waist so much. I use Spanx and even tried some of the other Maggy London flare out dresses, but many still just hug the waist too tightly and while I’m not bitter about my baby bump, I do look pregnant. An empire design is really what I need.
