best work shoe EVER.
I absolutely love Dansko. I'm a RN so I'm on my feet a ton, and nothing has been as comfortable for those long 12 hours. While I hate the idea of spending this much on a shoe for work, for me, a pair will last about 1-1.5 years, and the comfort makes it worth it for me. I can always tell when it's time for a new pair because my feet and legs will start to ache by the end of the day.
Danskos do run about a size small. While they're wide in the toe box, they tend to be a bit short. I wear a size 9 in practically everything... but in these I need a 10 (or a 40). One thing annoying is since they're all hand-stapled, is each pair of shoes will fit a little different, so if it's your first time buying you might want to try on 2 or 3 pairs of the same size to see the variation. Also, if you're a Dansko virgin... these do wear differently than your traditional shoe which may take some getting used to. So how they should fit is: your toes should move freely and not hit the front of the shoe; your arch should fit snugly into the arch support (but the top of the shoe shouldn't be tight); and you should be able to fit your pinky finger between the heel of the shoe and the heel of your foot so your heel can "slip" freely when you walk. Sounds awkward, but it's something you won't even notice once you're used to it.
I've had many finishes, but the black patent is by far my favorite! I work in L&D, so instead of "fancy" scrubs, I'm in surgical greens every day. The patent makes me feel a little fancier and fun... well, as fancy and fun as you can when essentially wearing ugly green pajamas. I always get compliments from other staff and from patients. Perhaps the best thing about this finish is it keeps all of the ick from getting on you, the leather doesn't soak up the ick, and it's easy to wipe clean... I use the disinfectant surface wipes around the unit to clean them, and they always look shiny and brand new after (even after a year).
If you're on the fence, give them a try. Don't be scared by the people who said that they fell in them, or that they heard their cousin's friend's wife broke her ankle because the sole of the shoe is stiff. If you walk in normal shoes without incident, you'll be fine in these. Your feet will thank you!

Not comfortable.
I purchased these shoes for comfort, but they are not comfortable. They are heavy and don't fit well either. I am going to return it.

great comfort and style
made a mistake by getting the XP, they felt so comfy when i tried them on, so cushiony. However, because of the extra padding, your foot is raised ever so slightly and this is where the problem lies. The top of the shoe, big toe knuckle area, was pressing down so much so that it was very painful. Shoe dept tried to stretch several times but the problem is, the patent is put on top of the leather, leather normally stretches but the patent restricts it from stretching. All learnt the hard way but this is why I sometimes prefer to buy from Nordstrom, I know they will always help, and they were extremely helpful and nice, their return policy is by far the best anywhere. SO! now i have the traditional clog, and just like my others, no breaking in and the usual fabulous comfort and style. Love the patent!

AMAZING!
I am a student teacher and have been looking for a pair of shoes that are good for standing long hours and moving around a lot on. These shoes are amazing and have helped my back, knees, and feet.
I definitely recommend these shoes and the patent is amazing with all my clothes and even jeans.

good commuter shoe
Bought them as a shoe to wear for my commute since they came recommended as being comfortable and practical. The patent leather works well on those days when it starts to rain mid-day. I wear a 6.5, bought the 6.5/7 and they fit well.

Dansco Shoes
Love the shoes, they are comfortable. It takes a little getting use to walking in them at first because they are so high!!! I love them. They fit true to size.

snazzy clogs!
I love this clog!
Have had 1 (or more versions of it in rotation since starting nursing school more than a decade ago.
I find the 'Professional' to be much more comfortable than the ProX
got it in the gray pattern, and it's perfect for being slightly polished and still comfortable at work.
I wear a size 10 and the 41 fits as I expect a Dansko to.
