The board is wide and asymmetric — one top corner arched, the opposite sharper, the bottom corners softly rounded. The outline follows no regular shape; the stone fills it generously. A leather cord loops through a small hole at the upper corner, knotted once and left to hang alongside. Late morning — the board carried out and set on the table, the loop still over a hand. Bread and cheese already on it. Someone pulls out a chair and sits. The board stays where it landed, the morning settled enough that no one needs to move it again.
