I have been supporting GS for 4+years now. They make the best footwear for anything under $1000 in the heritage boots space and definitely better than anything Nordstrom has ever sold. It is far superior to anything Nordstrom has been selling including Ferrangamo and Allen Edmonds. If you care about style and quality then GS is the brand for you. Their footwear is Goodyear welted, meaning they can be resoled when they wear out so these are a BIFL kinda brand. I've ben supporting GS for many years and have acquired 21 pairs of footwear from them and not one had a stitch out of place and QC was always on point. I used to think Nordstroms sold quality stuff until I learned about what a quality pair of boots looks like. Grant Stone is made in China but the owner is American. In the beginning, they took inspiration from Alden but they have since pivoted to their own style. I am a 10D brannock and I got a size 9D. Their sizing guide says to go 1/2 down and I tried that however, it was super roomy and I prefer my boots to fit snug. I got the Crimson Cxl which is Brown Cxl and they creased nicely. For those that think creasing is a bad thing in footwear, you're wrong. The only leather that doesn't crease is patent leather or genuine leather. GS only uses leather from Horween and CF Stead. The only exception is shell cordovan. Those will develop nice rolls and will never crease. Get any pair of GS footwear and you'll see the level of quality they provide. You will be able to wear their boots for many years; decades if you condition your footwear the right way. The Black, Brown, and Natural are all chromexcel. There is a Cxl lottery.
