Polyester windbreaker material for a summer dress?
This dress has a lovely cut and flatters the wearer with its full skirt and nipped in waist. I did not realize that today's taffeta fabric includes lightweight 100% polyester fabric (what I would consider like an ultra lightweight 1970s windbreaker) rather than the heavier taffeta that I have worn in the past. I live in the desert southwest, and I really like this dress, but how can I wear it in the heat here if it's made of non-breathable fabric? The dress and its lining are made of 100 percent polyester. I thought about wearing it in winter, but then there are the missing sleeves (with deep cutouts). The pockets are wonderful. I also love that it is machine-washable, but I wonder how the lining would hold up.
