Campo Sneaker (Women)

I wanted a pair of Vejas but couldn’t decide between the esplar and the campo. I wear a 7.5-8 usually, but 8.5 in most lifestyle sneakers. I originally bought the 39, since that said size 8. It definitely fit closer to a 9 and felt too big. However, the 38, which fit more like an 8, was a touch on the small side. Yet another instance when I wanted a half size! Ultimately, I decided the 38 was better as the 39 was too big, and I really wanted a pair of these shoes. Then, I went back and forth between this campo and a similar esplar. I ultimately picked the esplar bc they felt just a tiny bit longer (better fit) than these campos (and bonus- $25 cheaper). I had to go with comfort, though I will say I liked the look of these campos just a little more than the esplars I kept. The campo leather has a soft texture, the V is suede and the shoe overall looks a little bit nicer. They were both equally a little uncomfortable at first. It wasn’t terrible and based on friends and other reviews, I’m assuming this style would soften up just as my esplars are already doing.

The shoes are so cute and perfect with any outfit. I’m between a size 6.5 and 7 so I purchased 2 sizes and ended up keeping the size 6 (37 EU) and returning the size 7. They run big so definitely size down. As the other reviews had mentioned, the tongue of the shoe is hard and does rub on the top of your foot but I’m hoping once I break the shoes in it won’t be a problem. Super happy with my purchase.

First, the lack of half-sizes really stinks. Unlike other reviews, I do find them true to size. I’m an 8.5, and the 8 was too small while the 9 was too big. I ordered the Esplar and the Campo and found the sizing is the same in both styles. Esplar is more narrow, Campo is wider (slightly too wide for me). Esplar is smooth leather while Campo is textured. I liked the width of Esplar better but the texture of Campo. Beyond the sizing, the shoes just aren’t cut well. The tongue on Campo is way too long, and it leaves a red mark after only a few minutes of wear. By contrast, the tongue on Esplar is shorter like a normal shoe, but the ankle area is too narrowly cut. The raises to quickly and rubs the front bottom edge of the outside ankle. It’s a shame that both styles fall short. If the tongue on campo wasn’t so absurdly long, I’d have probably kept those. As it is, they’re all going back.

I usually wear size 9 1/2 to 10 and ordered size 9 based on reviews and they fit. When I first tried them on I laced them up all the way and they definitely made my feet look big so I removed the laces from the last holes making the laces tie a little further from my ankle and this helped them look a lot better! The tongue does press into my ankle but it’s not bad enough to want to return them. I’ve already gotten tons of compliments!
