Labo Platform Sandal (Women)

I was so excited about this sandal - I ordered the citron yellow which in the photos is a bright, edgy pop of color which I imagined being super fun for summer, and to make basic outfits stand out. I have it two stars bc the actual footbed is comfortable and the leather of soft. However everything else about this sandal is off. I am a standard 9.5 in almost every shoe. In European sizing I am always a 41, however based on reviews that they run big I ordered a size 40 which was described as a 9-9.5. The sandal almost just fit me, but my big toe hung over the edge just slightly so I knew the 41 would be way to big...especially since the straps of the sandals that wrap around your ankle were twice as long as I needed them to be. Granted I do have small ankles and a slender foot, but this sandal is designed for someone with a normal to wide foot, and above average ankle width. For me the wrap part with the Velcro was 4-5 inches than I needed it to be. The worst part though is that my beautiful citron color was faded and unevenly died on the leather - some parts were faded and looked old, and other parts were more dense with color, but none of it was that beautiful bright color shown in the picture. And the bottom/base/wedge looked straight-up cheap - like burlap on top of some sort of synthetic plastic looking material. I showed the lady at the counter when I returned them and she completely agreed. For $275 I am expecting a high-end designer looking show that looks and feels great, and is built to last. If you told me this shoe was $40 at TJ Maxx I would say “okay maybe.” And honestly that’s probably where most of them are going to end up unless I happened to get a faulty pair. In sum, the length is slightly small, the ankle straps are wide and built for someone with thick legs, and the construction is poor.

I absolutely LOVE these sandals. I feel I have to defend these sandals with the not-so-kind prior reviews. I wish they would have worked for the previous women who purchased them. On me they fit perfect, I wear a 6 or 6 1/2 sandal and the 6s fit me, I love the worn out look of the leather, the leather does not look cheap and many if not all shoe designers use velcro (I have quite a few Pedro Garcia sandals which are more than twice the cost of these and they all have velcro closures). The only aspect of this shoe that may be troublesome to some is the ankle strap in size 6 fits my very small ankles perfectly. I'm 5'4" and tiny boned. Something to think about.

I love these but...great look stylish cute good neutral color. They are comfortable with just the right amount of a platform for a little extra height. The straps are very soft leather and I think will stretch over time so they will become loose and new holes to tighten them will need to be punched. They definitely run big I usually wear a 61/2 to seven and ordered the 37 way to big so I got the 36 they are perfect. I like them but I think they are over priced for the quality
