Good Everyday
The aesthetics of this shoe are great, very minimalist to pair with many outfits. Traction is good, protected me from a fall one day. Durability is great, the back of the shoe is being hit constantly due to how I use the shoe, and there is only a small wear spot. Very comfortable for everyday wear, however a better insole could provide better cushion for everyday, however for trail running it's probably good. Very breathable as well.

Worst trail shoe.
Worst fitting trail shoe I have ever worn. Went 1/2 size bigger like I always do. Hard to get foot into the shoe. First run - blisters on top of toes, abrasion of skin on top of foot and ankle. You should fire your designers and testers.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Norvan LD 4. We’re sorry to hear about the fit issues and the discomfort you experienced on your first run. Blisters and abrasions are certainly not the experience we aim to deliver. Your comments about the difficulty getting the shoe on and the pressure across the top of the foot are important, and we’ll be sure to pass this feedback directly along to our design and product teams. We appreciate your honest feedback, as insights like yours help us continue to evaluate our fit, testing, and design decisions and work toward better products in the future. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and helping us improve.

Great shoes!
I love these shoes. Comfortable, just the right amount of cushioning and great traction. The lace pocket on the tongue is a nice added touch.

solid shoes
These were purchased as a gift, so I can't comment on the fit. I can say that it's impressive how far the shoes have come in recent years, durability and style both seem to have improved and are uniquely arc'teryx. It's probably time to revisit some old favorites I wore years ago and see how the new models compare.

Poor durability.
Very comfortable, breathable shoe. I love the look and feel, and found there to be good traction. Unfortunately, as other users experienced, my shoes started to come apart in about a week with less than 75km on them; same failure point as others, on the upper. See pictures. I'd give five stars if the shoe didn't break. I will have to return and purchase a different product.

Hello there, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Norvan LD 4. We’re glad to hear the comfort, breathability, and traction worked well for you, and we’re truly sorry to learn that the upper began to separate so quickly — that’s not the durability we aim for, especially in a long‑distance shoe. We’d recommend submitting a Product Service Request Form so our team can take a closer look at your pair, assess any potential manufacturing issue, and determine the best next steps. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-service/service-request

What happened?
I have four pairs of LD3's one Sylan pro one SL3 one Aerios mid and now one LD4 all in size 13. Over 1100kms in LD3s but I cannot run 3k in the LD4 it is so narrow in the mid and tight upper area. I can only wear them for walking with Salomon laces put in the upper lace holes. Not impressed at all!

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We truly appreciate your long‑term experience with our shoe lines, and understand how disappointing it must be to find that the Norvan LD 4 fits so differently after over 1100 km in previous LD models. We understand how important a comfortable fit is, and how frustrating it can be when a shoe feels too narrow in the midfoot or tight through the upper. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’ve passed it along to our design team to help guide future improvements. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review and for being such a loyal runner in the Norvan line.
