Diode MX Pants

Excellent addition to veilance, the straighter cut and wider slot this into a nice middle ground between veilance's traditionally slim fitting pants (like the notoriously slim align mx) and the trendy super-baggy corbels. The front pockets are both deep and wide, and while I was initially put off by the workwear-esque patterning on the pockets, I've grown to like them and they no longer bother me at all. The built-in waist adjustment is well implemented, functional while having minimal bulk, but only having two adjustment options is limiting: a third would've been great. Each person's body is different, so I can only comment on my own experience, but I've found these pants to be some of the best fitting out of all the other veilance pants I've tried. I'm on the shorter side, so the diode mx's shorter inseam is very welcome. Burly DoubleWeave is what it is, it's plenty wind and water resistant for a softshell, and has good durability too. It's got great structure and drape — this is veilance after all, so it needs to look good for city use. Unfortunately this fabric is very, very loud when walking, definitely one of the 'swishiest' pants I own. It's louder than other slimmmer-fit pants using the same fabric because the straighter and wider fit means the fabric brushes against itself more.

great new pant from veilance. more of a classic menswear cut - a true relaxed straight leg. doesn't fit as wide or exaggerated as the corbel, which i also still love. patch pockets + the side waist adjustment tabs/buttons add a subtle military/workwear vibe. fabric is more dense/thicker than the corbel fabric, but not brushed on the inside. i think this will be a great pant for the winter. also got them hemmed for free at the toronto bloor st store, which makes them look and fit even more premium. amazing pant, need more colours!
