Alston Roughout Leather Jacket

I have had three of these jackets. They are beautiful and I haven’t seen any like them anywhere else. The styling is great. Think “Little Joe” Cartwright’green Western jacket. The suede is great with slight variations in the brown tanning that give it great character. The reason I didn’t give five stars is because two of the three had defective collars. They were curved or bent improperly. I don’t think they are not manufactured correctly but are crushed during shipment. Ironically RL puts foam rubber inserts in the sleeves to protect them but nothing to prevent the collar from being crushed. This one had a misshapen back of the collar but I was able to put a cardboard insert in it and it has recovered. So maybe with wear it would have been fine anyway. However, the other two were not fixable and RL gladly exchanged them. I think the Double RL brand should be of the highest standard and the other pieces I have from it are perfect. For some reason they have missed the quality control boat with this jacket. Hopefully they will address this problem. So if you want an awesome roughout suede trucker’s jacket by all means get it. But beware that you may get one with a less-than-perfect collar
