Contour Collection Side Ruched Cocktail Dress

I ordered this in an 8 and a 6. The fabric is heavy weight but has a good amount of stretch. They both fit. The 6 was a little more fitted so I went with that one. I am 5'5" and 155 lbs for reference. I usually where about an 8 so it may run a little big. There is a drape across the front so the fabric touching your skin is not the fabric that you see. This means there's no belly button divot; woo hoo! (its a pet peeve of mine so I figured I'd mention it.) The fabric is cool to the touch but not sure how breathable it will be. Great for an evening wedding. Great construction and quality. All in all a fantastic purchase.

This dress is so pretty! The charcoal/bluish color is beautiful. It has a very pretty design so I was very excited to receive it. It looked awful on me! The material in the front gathers to the side and it was just too much material and it caused me to look heavier. I'm small busted and the top was too big yet my butt is wide and it was snug there. It probably was just the wrong style for me. The material is very unforgiving in the back (it almost felt scuba-like). I had read that the dress runs large but I completely disagree. I'm an 8-10 and the 10 was snug on my butt. This was certainly not right for me but it's a beautiful dress.

I bought this for my niece's wedding in two weeks so cannot yet comment on how it looks and feels after a few hours of fun. But I can say the plum is a vivid, royal purple and simply a beautiful color. The fit with the ruching hides a multitude of sins and the little bling on the side is festive without being too much. I am 5'6', could easily lose 10 lbs and the dress looks like it was made for me. But only after I bought the correct foundation garments. The magic of the Nordstrom lingerie dept. took me from an ill fitting size 12 to a 10P all because of the right bra. A truly transformative experience. So, if you try it on and it looks great in the front but "bunchy" in the back, take it over to lingerie.

The material has stretch and the dress is very comfortable. I weigh 140 lbs. and am 5'3, and it is sliming and the gathering on the dress accents in all the right areas. The length is perfect (especially for older legs). The broach at the side of the waist is tasteful and not cheap. I am wearing this to my son's wedding and feel fabulous in it! Love the charcoal color as it is almost black but not as harsh as black on your skin tone. The color makes it interesting as you are not sure what color it is. Dress is well made and you will not be sorry if you purchase this.
