Sorin Waterproof 850 Fill Power Down Jacket

I purchased this jacket as an outer layer for commuting on cold winter days as well as for weekend outings. I really like the Dark Cocoon color, and overall I’m very satisfied with it—the jacket is warm, minimal in design, and feels well thought out. That said, I think sizing requires careful consideration. I own an Arc’teryx Beta Insulated Jacket in size L, which I intentionally bought a bit larger to allow for layering. In contrast, the Sorin Down Jacket fits me perfectly in size S. I found size M to be too large, making the silhouette look slightly bulky and less refined. For reference, I’m 5’8” (174 cm) and 180 lbs (82kg). Because the down quality is excellent and the jacket is generously insulated, there’s no real need to size up for layering in most situations (unless you’re dealing with extreme cold like Alaska). For that reason, I ultimately chose size S and am very happy with the fit. Within the first week of wearing it, I received multiple unsolicited compliments, with people asking where the jacket was from.

I'm 5'9" 185 lbs and the Medium size fits me perfectly; I was a little concerned sizing wise based on previous comments, but followed the sizing guide and ordered the jacket in the Rune color. I walk to work every day, rain, snow, wind or shine and thus far, this jacket performs very well given its lightweight feel.
