Marta Floral Print Belted Satin Gown

I bought this dress to wear at my daughter's Graduation here in Hawaii. It looked stunning and I received so many compliments on the dress. It is lighter weight than you would expect and it has pockets. I love a dress with pockets and this just checked all the boxes. I paired it with black wedge heels since the event was outside on grass. I will be wearing this again as it is timeless and made me feel beautiful while wearing it. It felt exactly like the photo on the website.

This dress is gorgeous, especially in my favorite Noir Blossom color. I ordered several dresses to wear as mother of the bride and I was happy with all of them. At my size, I'm not accustomed to have so many choices! I love love LOVE this dress. I just wish it wasn't so expensive, especially for a material that doesn't contain any silk. It looks like it should be part or all silk, but it's all polyester. Luckily, it's a high quality polyester. So what you're paying for is the design and craftsmanship instead of the material. For reference, I'm 6' tall and 273 pounds. I wear either a size 22 or 24 depending on the fit of an item. I ordered the 22 based on the size chart and I was pleasantly surprised that it fit. I also have "bat wings" (which is a nuisance for fitting sleeves), and the sort of cap-like sleeves on this dress made it possible for me to wear it. If the sleeves were a little longer, I don't think it would have fit me. Getting the dress off is challenging because the sleeves are tight, so I just have to be mindful that I don't tear anything. At 6 feet tall, the length touches the mid or bottom of my ankle bones, but it doesn't touch the floor. I actually like this length because I will wear classy flats, not heels. But if you're tall like me and want a floor sweeping length, you might not get it. But the funniest part for me, fit-wise, is that instead of being a "high natural waist" dress on me, it's an empire waist! Like, the waist line is juuuust below my bust lol. The skirt length is long, but not the torso. But it works as an empire waist because it flares out below the waist. I doubt I'll wear the belt with it, though. That's unfortunate because the dress looks great in the photos with the belt. Unfortunately for Nordstrom, I returned the dress here because after I ordered it, I learned that Sachin & Bobbi have a December sale for 25% off. I couldn't pass that offer and bought it directly from them and returned it here. Without that discount, there's no way I would have paid this price for a MOB dress (single use). That leads me to the final comment: This dress doesn't scream MOB! If I had a gala to attend (ha! A girl can dream, can't she? Maybe the SF Symphony??), I would feel comfortable wearing this and feeling elegant.

I've been searching high and low for a nice, yet appropriate dress for my nephew's wedding. This one fits the bill perfectly. Looks lovely on, well-made, and I don't even need any alterations. For reference, I'm between 5'6 and 5'5 and about 142 lbs with a 34DD chest. So elegant -- and it even has pockets!
