Be diligent and it will be worth it!
I am a nurse and esthetician, and I firmly believe in blue light therapy. This particular device has been a lifesaver for my mild acne, and my Perioral dermatitis. I have used other blue light therapy devices in the past (Tria and Neutrogena), and this device is amazing! The red light helps with inflammation and the blue kills bacteria. Being fair skinned redness will show a lot on my skin, so I appreciate that this has both. I use this right when I see a pimple or any inflammation, and it goes down so quickly-usually going away in a day or two. It is not necessary to push hard on the skin with this, just touch it very slightly. There is a large surface area too, so it covers problem areas well. Lightstim is the same brand used by many dermatology and medical spa offices, so I trust in the brand. I recommend this to anyone with mild to moderate acne, or any skin inflammation issue.

Increased Acne
I had relatively clear skin until the last few months where my acne had started increasing. I typically only have mild/moderate acne and decided to purchase this as an option to help me manage my problem areas. I used this 5 days a week, once a day for 4 weeks right after washing my face, as directed. I emailed the manufacturer after two weeks to ask about increased acne I was getting while using the device, including some cystic acne which is not typical for me. They mentioned a detox period where some people see increased acne for a bit before it improves due to the red light causing increased circulation which brings acne to the surface. Flash forward 2 more weeks and I’m still getting acne, including deeper cystic acne which again is not typical. I emailed the manufacturer again and this time they recommended I return the device since cystic acne is not a typical reaction. I know not all skincare works for everyone but I feel like their statements of 100% of participants showed improvement in their acne is so misleading. Like sure I could say because one side of my face didn’t get acne during use I suppose it “improved” but the other side blew up with deep cystic acne. I just feel extremely duped and my face looks worse now. I am definitely returning this item.

Miracle!
I have struggled with acne, both hormonal and regular, for years. I have used this product for a week and have already seen a major reduction in the size, redness and inflammation of my blemishes. I double or triple the timer on areas that are badly affected and have been using daily. It has worked wonders! It seems to have helped the black heads on my nose and reduced pore size as well. I love this and will keep it apart of my regular routine!

It works!
I’m prone to little acne bumps all around my chin, as well as the occasional hormonal breakout. I had success with red light treatment in a doctor’s office, but that cost $100 for 5 treatments, and those were only weekly. The LightStim is not only cost effective, but it works! After about 3 daily treatments, my skin was smooth and I am happy with the results. Definitely a keeper.

It works - just be consistent!
I am 28 and have mild-moderate acne and have been developing cystic acne recently every few months or so over the last year and bought this out of desperation. Good news is - 3 months of consistent use and any acne that does arise is really small and not very inflamed, which is incredible since I have done everything short of accutane... antibiotics, topicals, etc.
Okay, you need to be consistent - I went on a camping trip and didn't use it for a week and we were back to business as usual - developed a nasty cyst. Took a few weeks to get it under control just a heads up. I just use it every night no matter what before I go to sleep and now I can skip the areas that don't break out - temples, cheeks, etc and do the 3 min each on my problem areas. It works though which is a relief if you are like me and have been burning off your skin since your were 13 with god knows what topical treatments.

such a helpful product! only been using it a little over a week and I already notice a difference in my skin. I have suffered with adult acne (I'm 27) since about age 18. I have tried everything, and spent a lot of money trying different products, doctors, prescriptions, and treatments. this is honestly the most useful thing I have used. For the first time in years my pimples are going away and my skin is clearing. Best part is this is not painful to use! Only downside is it is time consuming (takes 30 minutes to do full face) but if you follow the directions you will see results.
