Rum Hand & Body Wash with Pump

This was a blind buy so I can’t dock too many points for the scent veering too far into frat boy cologne territory. As someone who gravitates towards cleaner scents like Diptyque Philosykos, I was put off by how the scent lingered on my hands. I had to wash my hands with dish soap to get the smell off before I could eat. Phew, it’s strong!

We mostly used this as a handwash, and in cool water this foamed, cleansed and rinsed quite well. I had no skin reaction to this (and have sensitive skin). The scent was light and fruity floral which was pleasant but not especially interesting, or at all reminiscent of rum - either bay or alcoholic. It was not until my partner commented it smells the same as Appletiser that I realised why is seemed familiar - he is right! Of course you have to have drunk this to see the similarity, but it is there. The travel size came in a metal tube which was difficult to dispense the right amount from, as the formula is a little too thin for this kind of tube. A pump would be a whole lot easier to use. Overall, we thought this basically fairly average. However if you love the scent that might make the difference.

I’ve been using the Malin Goetz Rum Hand Wash and it honestly makes washing my hands feel like a treat. The scent is warm, slightly sweet, and not overpowering at all. It cleans really well without drying my hands out, which is huge for me since I wash my hands a lot. It also looks great by the sink and feels very luxe, so it’s one of those small upgrades that actually feels worth it.
