Corporate Philanthropy is rooted in our history, and we're proud to support people in the communities we serve. Each year we invest millions of dollars throughout the U.S. and Canada.
By 2025, our goals are to:
Raise $5 million from cause-marketing campaigns for core partners who support families.
Increase customer awareness of our charitable partners over time.
Invest more than $50 million in communities where we operate.
Develop and implement program-wide impact reporting.
Increase grantee perception of program transparency.
Increase employee participation in our charitable match program to 20% annually.
Increase employee volunteer hours to 250,000 hours annually.
Engage our executives to support our philanthropic partners through board participation or service programs.
Customer Engagement & Cause Marketing
We know our giving impact grows when we can invite our customers to help us support causes that are important to them. We focus on supporting families and children in our communities, and our customers are glad to join us.
We believe that one of our most important responsibilities is to support the people who support us, and we're working hard to give back to the diverse communities where we live and work across the U.S. and Canada.
We encourage our employees to give personally to the causes that matter to them, and to show our support of our employees' values, we match their charitable donations—both monetary gifts and volunteer hours.
We take philanthropic responsibility seriously at Nordstrom by investing in nonprofits that support children and families in the communities where we do business through corporate grants and cause-marketing campaigns. Each year, we offer customers the opportunity to join us in several cause-related marketing partnerships with organizations like Shoes That Fit, Good+Foundation and Operation Warm, and we invite customers to help us maximize our philanthropic donations by donating or making give-back purchases. We support and admire companies and brands that give back, and we have a brand of our own in that spirit: every purchase of our Nordstrom Made brand Treasure & Bond—clothes, shoes, accessories and housewares—gives back to organizations that empower young people. We're also pleased to donate 1% of all our Gift Card sales to nonprofit organizations in the communities we serve. Finally, we strongly encourage our employees to support the causes and organizations that matter to them by matching employee donations, of both money and time, up to $5,000 each year, per employee.
