Water Resistant Rain Jacket

The hunt for a real Anorak-style rain jacket continues. Thin and not waterproof. I could feel it sticking to my skin within 30 seconds of trying it on. It not only runs large, but it’s also massive in length and not a great jacket for anyone under 5’7” - the length makes you look like your swimming in a men’s jacket if you are shorter.

First off, I do like how this looks. I’m 5’4” 120 and purchased a medium, because I knew I’d be layering under this. I like the extra pockets and double zipper. I waited until I could wear this in the rain to write a review. It was an Oregon ‘light’ rain, so probably more of a drizzle or actual rain for some. The not so great things are that there’s no way to tighten the hood and it fell back easily even though there was no wind. I did get a little wet though it, but I know water resistant is never water proof. It was plenty warm for 2 mile walk in under 60 degrees wet weather, in fact I was soon a little too warm with a short sleeve shirt underneath and the double zip came in handy to let some air in. I’d consider this more of an in and out of the car or short distance coat, than anything for a hike.

I was so excited about this jacket and it’s super cute, but returning for a couple reasons. Runs large, I’m normally a small and I was swimming in it. The sleeves are pretty long and the shoulders and length felt like a medium if not larger. Also, it’s more like a “shell” not jacket. Very thin and more sporty feeling instead of effective in keeping the rain off
