Volume Effet Faux Cils Volumizing Mascara

I simply cannot understand all the positive reviews of this mascara. For me it was $32 down the drain. It smears so easily to the point that just normal blinking of the eyes during the day left me with raccoon eyes by 11 am. It is the worst mascara I've ever used. Peraps the waterproof is better. Don't waste your money on this. I wish I could give it zero stars.

I switched from brown mascara to burgundy several years ago & tried many different brands--this is my favorite. Some brands are too dark it's almost a black & some are too pink--this one is perfect & doesn't look burgundy on the lashes but definitely brings out the green in your eyes. I have had a ton of people comment how green my eyes are since using this mascara--it's a must have for green & hazel eyes!

I have used YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara for a about three years. I have a hard time finding a mascara that does not flake and still provides me a lush, full lash. For a long time this mascara was perfection to me. The last two to three tubes I have gotten have not lasted over a month or so before they start to fail and flake badly. This is a fairly expensive product so I find this unacceptable and will be finding a new mascara. I still give it three stars because prior to drying out it is a superior product.

I've long been on the hunt for the perfect mascara, and I recently tried four inexpensive mascaras that were highly rated on the Web. They did nothing for my lashes. Disappointed, I decided to go to the other extreme and shell out the $30 for this YSL mascara. Initial review: Amazing! One coat gave my eyelashes a natural, but plumped-up look. Two coats brought the look up to dramatic, with not only clump-free volume, but noticeable length, too, and the formula left my lashes soft, not stiff. I do something rather unconventional to test out the "durability" of a mascara -- I sleep in it. Volume Effet Faux Cils performed beautifully -- no smudging, no budging, no smearing, with not even a single flake! My only concerns (and why I didn't give it five stars) are that the brush comes out kind of goopy-looking, with a lot of product on it, and other reviewers have complained that the tube dries out quickly.

I'm a big YSL mascara fan. This is my choice when I'm going out at night or wearing something really dramatic (think animal prints and large statement jewelry). It puts a lot of mascara on the eyes to give them a feathery look. They says it is looks like false lashes. I've never worn them but it is dramatic. I buy high density black. For everyday wear I like YSL Babydoll.
