Touche Éclat Le Teint Radiant Liquid Foundation with SPF 22

So, the old version was HG for me. My skin is normal with a few dry patches. I loved the dewiness of the old versions, and how radiant it was, but typically I prefer more medium coverage and the old version was pretty sheer. The main difference with the reformulation is it has much more coverage (I now get medium coverage with one pump, closer to full with 2) and it's far less moisturizing. It feels like they reformulated it to make it work for more skin types, but it does still work well for mine. For the extra coverage and less moisturizing formula, you do lose some of the glow the old version had, but I don't find it matte by any means. Most non cream foundations accentuate my dry spots, but the new version doesn't do that. My skin still looks glowy with this, just not as glowy as the old version did. However, it wears longer on me than the previous version did. So overall, I will take a little less glow for more coverage and longer wear time. As far as shades goes, I know a lot of people are finding they're different. I'm NW10 and wore BR10 in the original, the new one is a bit less pink, but I don't really find it to be off that much otherwise. Overall, I still find this foundation to be HG. It likely will work better for oilier skin types than the original did, tho anyone who is more on the overall dry side will probably find it's not moisturizing enough.

The new Touche Eclat Foundation formula is a hit! The coverage is great and it is luminous, but not overly so. You may need a bit of powder in the T zone but otherwise it lasts all day. The coloring in the new formula seems to be different. The BD shades 25 & 40 are very orange. BD30 is perfect for my NC25 skin tone. Must try for YSL lovers!

Please bring back the old formula. All these longtime users and reviewers can't possibly be wrong. There is a drastic difference between the old formula and the new "Awakening" reformulation. The old formula provided light, moisturizing coverage all day without any patchy dryness. On the other hand, the new formula does not go on as easily, leaves streaks and amplifies dry areas. Yuck. YSL, please stop tinkering with already great products...you are pushing loyal, long-time customers into the arms of inferior cosmetic brands.

I have a story to tell. I received this foundation about a week ago after an exhaustive search for foundation. I had been using Jane Iredale liquid mineral foundation for several years and was never that happy with it and finally determined mineral foundation is not for my aging skin. I will be 63 in less than a month and the years of sun and fun have taken their toll on my skin, plus I have a fairly large dark brown spot on one cheek from a biopsy that I never put sunscreen on since I did not know one was supposed to do that and that spot bothers me a lot. I never had to wear foundation until probably my 40's and now I just put it on my T-Zone, never my entire face. I researched organic foundation and the reviews were spotty and believe me I really wanted an organic foundation since I have had cancer. I received a sample, (love getting Nordstrom samples with beauty purchases!). of this foundation but in the Matte coverage and tried it and liked it but didn't want a matte finish. One of the shades seemed to work with my skin tone, though, so I looked at the Le Teint which is supposed to be less coverage but with a soft finish. I spoke with a Nordstrom beauty representative via phone since I live in a rural area and there are not high end department stores close to me, about this foundation and the color and she was wonderful. I can't say enough about the customer service I received. I took the plunge and purchased this along with the Sigma Kiboku brush duo that I also read about in reviews. This foundation works beautifully with my aging skin. I do not use a primer since I think it's a waste of $, why do I want to put another product on my face? I moisturize fully with the Herbivore Botanical Pink Cloud, which by the way, love, and then use the Kiboku brush to layer the foundation and the additional concealer brush around my eyes and nose. I have a small face! I am happy. This foundation does not transfer and seems to last all day though I am not an expert in this and only found out about the "in's and out's " about foundation after watching a bunch of YouTube videos.

YSL Touche Eclat Foundation was my holy grail, and BR20 was a perfect match. I was heartbroken to order a bottle to discover that not only was the formulation changed, but so were the shades. I decided to give it a chance on my NW 20/25 dry, mature skin. The new formulation continues to offer its gorgeous YSL finish, but the coverage was thicker, and did not apply as smoothly. The new formulation settled into the fine lines, and oxidation was visible at the 5-to-6-hour mark; neither was prevalent in the earlier formula that for me was perfection. Why fix what was not broken?
