Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain

After some research on stains, I ordered this in the Rose Illicite. My experiment: Lined my lips with Rose liner. Applied the stain, which was very easy with the applicator. Went out-and-about for a couple of hours, with my mask on. This is how it looked when I arrived home.... very pleased! Now for more colors!

I wish I could give this product 20 stars. I've never written a product review before... but I just had to take a moment to rave about Tatouage. It's not getting the accolades it deserve. I've tried every lipstick and liquid lipstick formula and let me tell you–this is the GOAT (great of all time). I don't know what fancy chemist came up with this formulation, but dang, this is close to Nobel worthy. Rich, rich, rich color, lighter than air feel, but zero dryness. Hydrates all day, but dries matte, with just the right amount of glow so you don't look like you've colored your lips with a sharpie. Maybe if you're 20 you can pull off a cracked matte look (barely). But for anyone older, this is a modern matte that flatters, keeping your lips looking (and feeling) juicy and kissable. As mentioned before, no cracking, patchiness or discomfort. Remarkably, it smooths rather than emphasizes lines, which no lipstick I've tried can claim. A tiny bit of transfer on cups and such, but you would never know it by looking at your lips. But the transfer stops at the glass. Zero bleeding or feathering, which happens with literally every formulation of lip color, pencil, primer, powder I've tried. Your lip line remains crisp throughout the day with no effort. I'm truly shook. BTW, for all you golden under-toned ladies where every lip shade tends to turn pink: get no. 9, the most popular selling color in Asia. It dries true red with an ever so slight warmth, zero pinkness. It's bright without being flourescent. Perfect for everything from a professional badass suit to weekend casual. I wore with a white button down and Levi's and complete strangers stopped me to ask what shade I was wearing. I've never found a red that feels like true love...until now. I tried on no 1, which instead of being a bright red looked more like a super bright red-orange. That's next on my list. If you're hesitating, stop it. You've done enough research. Get Tatouage. You won't regret it, I promise.

This product has a very light, thin consistency that is unlike the traditional heavy liquid lipstick and provides an opaque, smooth coverage in one layer. It is fairly long-lasting--though the staining-power of this product appears slightly less than that of the YSL Glossy Stains-- and will usually remain on the lips throughout the workday providing that one limits their eating and drinking. The Nude Emblem 16 shade is particularly flattering and is a classic "your lips but better" color that has a warm pink/rose hue that is neither too brown nor too bright pink. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy this product and would recommend it to anyone interested in a light-weight, pigmented, and sophisticated lip product.

I’m a MUA and matte lips but mostly long lasting lip color is a must for makeup application! I can’t say enough good things about this collection. I personally bought all the color for myself cause I love the naked hydration feel of feeling like nothing is on. The applicator wand is amazing with a lil door that holds the color and a slanted side for a precise point for the the Cupid’s bow and corners. So sad to see what’s happening to YSL colors disappearing !!!
