Saucony

It's the shoe brand that's easy to wear but tricky to say. Saucony, pronounced SOCK-uh-nee, has been running strong since 1898, when four young businessmen opened a shoe manufacturing company in a two-story brick factory on Saucony Creek in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Today, as always, the brand's shoes are synonymous with innovation, comfort, quality construction and style.

Shoes worked perfectly for the harsh conditions

I bought a couple weeks ago for my Alaska trip, worked out perfectly. Kept dry and warm and great wear.

Not ideal.

These shoes have absolutely destroyed my toe nails. I've never had it this bad in a pair of shoes.

Happy

This is my first time with Saucony as I broke up with Hoka due to poor quality. I bought these as my new ultra marathon shoes to replace the Mafate. So far, 60 miles in, they have been pretty great. The Vibram is tough and grippy, made good work at The RUT 50k in Big Sky. I’ll be giving them a go on a flatter, flowy course in PA next week. Only complaints are that the upper already has a hole in it and I wish they kept the rock plate! Not a major concern, just standard ware when running on scree and rocky terrain. I’d recommend these to anyone who wants a little more cushion in a technical shoe.

Writing this for the future discount

Love these. I wore Peregrines for a decade or so (since v2) but now I wear these instead. These are my second pair and I will buy more. I've used them for hundreds of miles of training and multiple

Great for hiking

I hiked all week in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons up to 11 miles a day. These shows were comfortable from the get go.

Not Bad, But Not Great

I've put 100+ trail running miles on my Xodus Ultra 4s and another 25-ish miles of hiking. Things I like - Vibram outsole is awesome and provides great traction. Shows zero wear at this point. Super comfortable. No one makes a better insole than Saucony and the overall ride feels comfortable and protective. That said, some things I don't love - Durability. I'd say these shoes haven't been used that hard and I've already had a toe bumper separate on one shoe and the wrap-around toe overlay separate on another. Saucony addressed this quickly under warranty which I appreciated, and both areas were easily repaired with some adhesive, but this shouldn't have happened to a quality pair of trail shoes under general use. I've also started to notice some wear to the inner heel area as several others have posted. Again, it's just too early for a high quality shoe to have that. Aside from durability - They're pretty heavy compared to some similarly-priced options from other manufacturers. Lock down is average and I've just not felt like these have been that great for terrain with any significant up/downhills (even where I live in Texas). Ultimately, these are going to be relegated to hiking and travel shoes where I think they'll perform beautifully. There are simply better options out there at this price point for legitimate trail running and racing.

Great Trail Shoe!!

Needed a solid and versatile trail shoe for my first 100k. I got these about 3 weeks prior to the race and logged 50-80 miles in them and broke them in perfectly. The shoes performed phenomenally for me in sandy trail conditions. I never took them off or swapped shoes and everything held up wonderfully! I will get another pair of the Xodus Ultra 4's for sure!
