Wool & Cashmere Wrap Coat

Disappointed in this coat for several reasons. I was hoping to get a black version of the Theory Oaklane belted wool coat I bought a few years ago. 1) Mink is not black - it's a dark brown. 2) It's much lighter than I expected. Like another reviewer said, it's almost more like a sweater. 3) Despite being 90% wool, 10% cashmere, the material doesn't feel nice or expensive at all. Not what I expect from Theory and certainly not for a $700+ coat. 4) Runs small. My other Theory belted robe coat is a Small and this felt like a full size smaller. Super tight in the shoulders (granted I have broad shoulders) but I could barely move my arms. I couldn't get halfway to a hug in this thing.

Much like some of the other reviews on this coat, I agree that the quality is not as I expected from this Brand. I liked the color, dark brown, but the fit was off. It runs much too narrow and it kind of looks like a robe rather than a Coat. It not being lined, and the type of fabric makes it stick to your clothing and uncomfortable to move in. The warmth would be perfect for California or if you are looking for a light layer. I got it on sale off season, so I thought I scored, but once I tried it on, it did not look as I expected. For reference, I'm a petite S, normally. I tried this in Medium regular size. Unfortunately it's going back.

I agree with other reviewers that this is more of a warm belted sweater than a coat, but I love it. It’s great for events which are outside/inside, or as a coat when it’s not too cold (like 40-50 degrees). The length is dramatic but not over the top. The material is a soft cashmere but the piece has structure. It’s just not lined, so not really a coat.
