'1000 Mile' Plain Toe Boot (Men)

I bought a pair and rather than lasting 1000 miles they barely lasted 100 before the sole on 1 of them came off. I contacted the company and they said they only warranty them for 1 year. Really? I spend $300+ on a pair of boots and you can warranty the sole coming off?!? I like the look of the boots but with poor customer service and quality like this I'll buy ones that last.

My husband bought these boots after a serious ankle injury (with surgery and months of rehab). He wanted a shoe that was dressy enough for work, but still gave his ankle support. While the shoe is very stylish, it is not durable, and after less than 6 months, the boots are so worn out they are unwearable. Hubby did wear these boots everyday, but he has a desk job!

I'm not even sure where to start with these boots I like them so much. I guess I'll start with leather. These boots are made with leather from Horween which in my opinion makes some of the nicest boot and jackets leathers available today. The finish of the leather is amazing and the smell is unlike any other leather around.. it's amazing. The leather breaks in nicely and is nothing but comfortable. The rest of this boot is top notch craftsmanship, too. I am very pleased with my purchase. Break-in was minimal and they are all day comfortable. Craftsmanship is comparable to my Alden 405s, which are highly sought after and also more expensive boots. I am a satisfied customer.

This is a great classic looking boot, very well made with top quality materials. Very comfortable and stylish you can either dress them up or down. Now this boot runs large as most boots do. My foot measures at 13, I purchased the 11.5 and it fits perfect. I tryed the 12 but it was far too sloppy in the toes. You want you boot to fit like a firm handshake the leather will form to your foot. I highly recommend that you find the right size before your purchase. Now I have normal width but most boots fit very narrow on me which is why I selected that it runs wide. Very happy with my purchase I highly recommend this boot. Looking forward to how they will look in 5+ years.

This boot is 5 times better looking in person than the online photo lets on. It's gorgeous.The brown is much better looking in person than the photo too. I thought I would want the "rust" color, but I'm very very happy with the brown. It will go with everything. I found the fit to be almost exactly right, as long as I'm wearing a thick sock (anything thicker than a dress sock). Width is normal. They're not insulated, so I expect to be wearing thick socks anyway. The leather is beautiful, and very supple. Construction and finish is top-notch. As soon as you touch it, you can tell this is a boot that will last many, many years. It's expensive, but amortize that over the length of time it will last, and it's pennies. Buy this boot.

Great classic boot, and the quality expected from an old company like this. First, it is great to see classic mens shoes coming back into style. This boot is a must have for todays styles. The look takes us back to a day when men took care of ANY shoe they wore - work boots included. One of my first pair of work boots when I was 15 were Red Wings which were identical to these 1000 Mile boots. Second, I thought the break in would be brutal, and it was not at all. I have worn Red Wing work boots for 30+ years, and was bracing myself to wear these new boots for short stints around the house until the leather broke in - not so. I wore them for an evening around the house, and the next day I had them on for several hours with no problem what so ever. I have a narrow fit (B width) and with my orthodic insole these boots feel great, so if you have wide feet, you may wish to try them first. Also they ran a bit long, maybe 1/2 size for me, but with the narrow foot size that may have been the offset. What is so very cool, is that our 2 boys ages 21 & 23 have boots similar to these, and I'm 51 years old, and during the recent Holidays we commented how fashion runs the full circle.
