Wheat Chain Necklace

Disappointed is an understatement. I bought this necklace for my husband to wear to our wedding a week ago. In the week he has worn it, it has turned completely black. We followed the recommended instructions and removed it when bathing. I am having a hard time believing this is sterling silver. For how much I spent, the quality of the product is a sad joke. I have not had this problem with DY products bought from Saks or DY boutiques. I’m starting to wonder if the item I was delivered is even authentic, as other sterling silver prices I have purchased from DY have not had the discoloration effect. On a side note, the necklace didn’t even come in an official DY box, which is another reason I question the authenticity. I would return the necklace immediately if I were not on my honeymoon. I'm truly disappointed in this experience. I love Nordstrom, but this is not what I expect from the brand. I have included a photo of the necklace next to a DY sterling silver bracelet to show a side-by-side comparison of what has happened to the metal next to an item that has not had the same effect yet worn longer. Please help.

I purchased it for my husband as an anniversary gift. I love the design and the necklace looks amazing. However, this silver material is not good at all ! I understand silver is easily oxidized but not this crazy easy... It gets dark on the second day that my husband wore it. Then we use toothpaste to clean it and it gets dark again pretty soon... It is not worth spending over $600 on it with this disappointing result...

Nice chain, excellent craftsmanship, has a nice luster to it. Always get compliments. Doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I always follow the care instructions and my sales associates gave me some good tips on how to clean at home.
