The Gift Edition Set

First, it's beautiful. From the luxurious outer packaging to the quality product packaging to the gloriously rich color of the lipstick compact- all gorgeous. The lipstick formula is my absolute favorite, and I've tried them all. Saturated colors with a satin finish; fragrance-free; high quality, clean ingredients. (I apply a swipe of lip balm first.) The highlighter is a lovely shade, but I rarely use them and would not have purchased it on its own. Why four stars instead of five? Because I don't like the way Westman Atelier forces the purchase of excess product that you may or may not want. The eyeshadows come in sets of three. The lip palettes are pretty to look at but not practical because, for many people, there are one or two shades you use more of; you should be able to purchase them individually. And then there's a set like this, where not only must you purchase an entire lip palette to get the one or two colors you want, but you must pay for the highlighter, too.

This was clearly old product. It smelled rancid when I opened it and I was so disappointed to have spent so much money on something I couldn’t use. I have other products from the brand that I love but it’s hard to trust them now that I know they are selling things that are well past their expiration. I have the same lip set in nude and it’s wonderful so I know this one was just off.
