Rain coat
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the color and material and style. Wanted something longer than a jacket. It was recommended I get a medium but it's a little big. Wish I had gotten a small, but I will keep what I have due to hassle of mailing returns

Woman's weekend adventure...big enough for a man.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It seems sized for a man not a woman's small. Also a lot of money for a shell.

Design flaws
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I desperately need a new waterproof windbreaker for summer travel. Been eyeing this awhile and finally ordered on sale. This has all the features I want (zero velcro, hood, longer length, waterproof). Sadly, I will be returning this shell due to two fatal flaws: 1. The sleeves are extremely long without an effective cuff to hold it off the hand. When cuff is snapped closed (as shown in photos), the fold of fabric rubs my wrist and sleeve still falls down to cover nearly my entire hand--and I have long arms! Impedes ability to hold/use items (like a phone or hiking poles), wash hands, etc. VERY annoying and dysfunctional! 2. There is no interior lining and in a short-sleeved shirt bare skin is touching the plastic Omnitech lining (and yes, as others have noted, the coat reeks of plastic--no idea if that would fade over time). Unpleasant, but the deal-breaker is the lack of sleeve cuff. Columbia, please keep the length, but bring back elastic wrist cuffs, and add a lining over the plastic fabric!

This is a weird jacket with a bad zipper. Period.
First of all, the zipper is janky. I don't have the patience to fight with it. Second of all, fit is..odd. It's like the bottom half desperately needed to flare out—it's very boxy if you don't want to pull the waist strings, which I didn't, because it hits me at an odd, non-waisty place. The clincher is, the hood pulls the collar backwards into a strangle no matter how much you pull it forward. So it's not cute, it's not comfy, so I'll never find out if it's waterproof bc I don't want to keep it. Overall, I miss old Columbia. I have 20yo fleeces in my closet...and I've sent back most of my last SIX orders. Bring back the quality, pls.

Solid Rain Jacket That Covers My Rear
I have been on the hunt for a longer raincoat that covers my rear. I have a "regular" length Columbia raincoat that I love. This one is great and will be in heavy rotation. I got the Greenscape color. I am 5'5" and wear a women's 16. I got an XXL to be able to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under it. It is generously sized. I might have been able to go XL. I knocked a star off for 2 things that others have raised here. The hood is pretty much useless as it either falls in your eyes or flops backwards. Point 2 is that in my other Columbia rain jacket you can tighten the cuffs with a strap to stop water or wind from blowing up your sleeve. The Weekend Adventure has one snap that tightens the cuff by about an inch. That is not going to keep water or wind out.

Great Product...but the Smell and Hood...
I bought this for my trip to Scotland and it performed well in the torrential rain and wind I experienced in the Hebrides. I only dislike 2 things about this: The first is the hood. There is not a drawstring to tighten the hood, and the it was no match for the gale force winds I experienced, and the embedded odor in the jacket material , despite several pre-departure washings, and hanging it separately from my other clothing. I just washed it again, twice, and the odor is still as strong and noxious as when I took it out of the packaging. Otherwise, I remained dry from the neck down, the jacket was very breathable, and I was covered to my knees and dry.
