Side Hustle Denim Skirt

I bought this as I have the Selma skirt in grey and blue, but wanted a skirt that had less fullness and weight for work and other dressier occasions. This is ideal as it has NO pockets, no bulk over the zipper as its exposed, NO belt loops or stitched over waistband, and is of a much lighter ( yet still substantial) fabric than other Wash Lab pieces. On me, at 5" 1 and 108, it hits more at just above the ankle bone so more like a maxi. Unfinished hem. The slit is slightly asymmetrical, following the asymmetrical line of the skirt's faux wrap and is nowhere near as high as shown here. For me ( again - at 5'1") it hits just an inch or two above the knee and is slightly off center. One complaint - in the interest of creating a streamlined look the zipper has no button closure at the top, so you have to be sure it zips fully and stays in place. I found it "drifts" down a hair. Color is a really pretty blue that is almost grey which broadens the wear-ability. Overall, this is a great, streamlined and sophisticated alternative to a classic heavier and more casual jeans skirt. An added plus for petites with small frames, it doesn't overwhelm me as some longer, thicker denim skirts do. One last plus - great sale price for this brand. Bought a 28 but could have bought a 27 due to the stretch. I prefer to wear my skirts a little lower on the hips which is why I went with the 28.

Just for fun the skirt can be worn backwards or forwards. Notice the suggestions all show the skirt backwards with the zipper in the front! No overlap on the zip and no button is a real plus for me. There is no bulk. No waistband so it settles nicely on the hips. I am only 5'4" so the slit doesn't come up as high on me as the photo shows - which is a good thing. I'd really like another one in black, please!
