Alameda Woven Mary Jane Flat

These shoes look very pretty and are very comfortable on. Unfortunately, they are a very poor quality. After less than an hour of wear, I noticed the weave in the leather coming apart on the front. I wasn’t even walking in them that much. I will be returning these and I will strike this brand off my list.

This shoe is really cute but it runs large, I’m still in the process of trying to find the right size. I’ve ordered an 8 and 1/2 my normal size and an 8. Both were much too big. Now I’ve ordered a 7 and 1/2 so we’ll see. I also don’t like how the straps Velcro. I wonder if they’ll last as long.

I bought these in gold leather at my local Nordstrom anniversary sale and at first was thrilled. I wore them to a conference and my feet were relatively comfortable at the end of the night for a day of walking around the conference space. But then I saw the leather had literally fallen off on the side after only 1 day of in-door wear. I have other vionics that have held up for years. Incredibly disappointing even at the sale price...essentially $100 in the garbage. Maybe the other colors are a better quality but I don't recommend the gold. The straps also velcro instead of buckling.

These shoes are really cute and have good arch support. They don't work for me, however, because in order to keep the shoes on my feet I have to adjust the velcro strap so tight that it drags on the floor. I do have a low volume foot and have had this issue with some other shoes. Definitely worth a try.

Finally, I have found a comfortable, cute Maryjane flat! Most flats make my foot look long and flat, I don’t have a high instep, but not these! The gold is the perfect color, not brassy, the leather is soft, and the Velcro strap makes me so happy! I love that they’re easy to adjust! I wore them out right away and they feel wonderful! They’ll look great with jeans, skirts, a summer dress, anything! I normally wear a 7.5, sometimes a 7. I bought a 7 and they’re perfect.

I bought these exactly two months ago and have only worn them a handful of times to work, where I’m mostly walking on carpet. Despite the very light wear, threads started coming loose and the woven material at the front began tearing. I saw other reviews mentioning quality issues before purchasing, but I assumed those experiences might have been a fluke. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case. These really did start falling apart after just a few wears, and I think the photos speak for themselves. To give credit where it’s due, these are probably the most comfortable flats I’ve ever owned, which makes this especially disappointing. I genuinely loved wearing them and am sad to return them, but this level of deterioration after only two months and minimal wear is simply unacceptable for the price.
